Despite facing challenging weather conditions in Toowoomba, our Emmaus College Equestrian Team delivered an unforgettable performance at the recent Interschool State Championships—with five of our six team members earning their goldentickets to Nationals!

Our riders rode magnificently, with some outstanding results:

  • Lucy B was Reserve Champion Secondary 1.15m 2* CT also securing the Reserve Champion title in Intermediate Jumping 1m
  • Eloise H was 4th overall in Primary 45cm CT and 3rd overallPrimaryWorking Hunter 45cm
  • Georgia K secured 3rd overall in EVA95 Eventing
  • Alicia D was crowned Secondary Senior Preliminary Champion
  • Fraser D earned 3rd overall in Intermediate Show Horse and was crowned Intermediate Show Hunter State Champion

Other results included Alicia D finishing 6th overall in the Secondary medium dressage, Eloise H placing 5th overall in the 50cm Showjumping and Ashlee S placing 7th in the Intermediate Show Hunter.

A further highlight for the Championships was Georgia K taking home the UQ Skills scholarship for the Diploma of Equine management in 2026 – a huge achievement. The winner of this scholarship is selected based on their performance both in and out of the equestrian arena and is chosen by a panel of representatives from UQ, Interschools Queensland and an Equestrian Australia coach.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents for braving the elements and supporting our riders behind the scenes. Your dedication made this week possible. Congratulations to all our competitors—you've done Emmaus College proud!
