The Emmaus Way

The Emmaus Way clearly identifies the signature practices that underpin the way we prioritise and maximise student learning outcomes.  The College Signature practices align with the Brisbane Catholic Education Strategic Plan, goals and initiatives.

The four signature practices are:

  • Christian Identity
  • Calm Connected Classrooms
  • Deepening Learning Through Quality Pedagogy
  • Collaborative, Caring and Professional Partnerships
Clearly identified strategies, along with strong school leadership, realise the Emmaus Way in our school community.

Explicit Improvement Agenda

Emmaus College has developed a rigorous process of annual self-review that is based upon collaborative use of evidence related to the strategic goals and targets.  The inclusion of a broad range of targets that encompass a range of learning areas, years of schooling and aspects of students' achievement, progress and engagement is an approach that builds a culture of continuous improvement.

Emmaus focuses on holding and maintaining high expectations for learners.  Our culture of collaboration fosters strong relations that support reflection, feedback and improvement.

At Emmaus College, we prioritise a strong learning culture in which every student is connected to the community.  We foster and support a classroom culture where the quietest voice can be heard.
